What is a podcast? According to wikipedia, a podcast is:
a series of audio or video digital-media files which is distributed over the Internet by syndicated download, through Web feeds, to portable media players and personal computers.
If you didn't follow most of what was in that statement, that's okay, we'll explain it here. Basically, a podcast is an audio or video file (in our case, a sermon/teaching) that can be delivered to your computer just like any other subscription service, like a magazine or a newspaper. This way, you don't have to always go out looking for those files. You can just sit back and let the files come to you. Don't get me wrong, we'd love for you to visit our site everyday and use many of its features, but we are also about convenience.
So, there are 3 ways you can listen to the Sermon/Teaching on our site:
- Podcast - via iTunes
- Podcast - via alternate feed reader
- Listening to it on the Sermons page of our site
The choice is up to you!
If you have ever had an iPod, you probably already know what iTunes is and probably already know how to subscribe to a podcast via iTunes. So, why are you still reading this? Go out and subscribe already. You can click on this handy, dandy link to take you right to our podcast in iTunes.--> PODCAST
This is for people that aren't familiar with iTunes. If you don't know what iTunes is or don't know how to "subscribe to a podcast," don't worry.
iTunes is basically a audio file manager. Most people use it to organize the music they have on their computers. Through iTunes, you can access the iTunes Store which allows you to purchase music and podcasts. But don't get your credit card out yet...our podcast is absolutely free! That's right you can subscribe to it free of charge.
If you have iTunes and are familiar with the iTunes store, just navigate to the podcast section and search for "About Faith Bible Church" and, boom, there it is. Click on subscribe and it's yours. Every week from here on out, Faith Bible Church's podcasts will automatically be delivered to iTunes and then to your iPod when you sync.

Podcast - via alternate feed reader
Feed Readers: a feed reader, also known as a feed aggregator or news reader, is client software or a Web application which aggregates such as news headlines, blogs, podcasts, and vlogs in a single location for easy viewing.
Simply put, it is a program or web application that goes out and grabs all the stuff you want without you actually having to go get it.
You can use programs like Google Reader (web application) or Feed Reader (download and install) to subscribe to a podcast. There are many more options if these don't suit your needs. Just google "feed reader" to find one for you.
Either of these options work well, and the documentation provided with each will provide you with excellent instructions.
Another alternate feed reader may actually be in your browser. The following is a list of the most popular web browsers as well as how to subscribe to a feed in each of them:
- Internet Explorer 6 - No built in feed reader. My suggestion is to upgrade to IE 7 or Firefox.
- Internet Explorer 7 - Click on the Podcast Icon. At the top of the next page you will be able to pick how you want to subscribe.
- Firefox - Click on the Podcast Icon. At the top of the next page you will be able to pick how you want to subscribe. The default for Firefox is Live Bookmarks.
Listening to it on our site
And finally, you can always listen the lesson on our site on the Sermons page. Simply navigate to the Sermons page and select the lesson you want. You will be taken to a page where you can either listen to the lesson online or download it for later. If you want to download the teaching, simply right-click on the file name and select "Save Link As" and you will be prompted for a location to save the file.
Easy as that!
If you have any questions that aren't answered here, or are having technical difficulties with the lesson, please contact the Faith Bible Church Web Team by clicking
